“Missionary Victim”: A Criminal Who Pushed Old Lady & Carried Nunchukas

Last week, haredi news agency Matzav “reported”:

When two of them [missionaries] at the Ranana junction spotted Nesanel, dressed as a yeshivah student, they assumed he worked for Yad L’Achim and would try to stymie them. They gave chase, threw him to the ground and pummeled him with vicious blows. According to information that reached Yad L’Achim, one of the assailants was Marcel Clark, a senior missionary of Asian origin with Dutch citizenship who is in Israel on a tourist visa, and another from the Former Soviet Union.

Here is the video of the “beating” as hosted by Matzav and The Yeshiva World:

Notice no actual beatings – the missionaries are clearly restraining the yeshiva boker! Also, look at the Youtube channel of the guy who uploaded this video: Thelostjewish. All his other videos are about how terrible Messianic Jews and missionaries are!

A Messianic believer from Israel (JP) emails in:

My neighbor, a believer, was on the Jews for Jesus campaign last week in the Ranaana – Kefar Saba area and was a witness of the incident where the JFJ Dutch volunteer and the religious guy clashed. I was told that the religious guy assaulted an elderly woman JFJ volunteer that morning. She was scratched and hurt after she got pushed and fell. The religious guy ran off. Later that day, he came back. The Dutch volunteer, who has training in martial arts and another JFJ volunteer from Haifa who recognized the religious guy had come to do more harm, chased him with the idea to catch him and hand him over to the police. They caught him and after they held him down and people gathered around the police did come and arrested the 3 of them. In the police station it was discovered that the religious guy was hiding a weapon in his cloths (as seen below). Also he had a criminal record for violence. The JFJ people where also told by the police to stay out of the area for a few days. The police released the 3 of them after giving them all restraining orders to stay out of that area. The 2 JFJ volunteers where suspended from the campaign because there behavior was not in light of JFJ policy.

So this guy was not an innocent boker, but actually a nasty piece of work who pushed an old lady and carried nunchukas. And then has the chutzpah to complain about being restrained!

  1. No doubt our Jeff and Penina will join us in condemning the actions of the non-Christian Jew and in agreeing with the restraint of the Jews for Jesus. This is test of their honesty. Let us test them and see.

  2. Does sound bad, that fact that YLC use such tactics and mistruths to gather publicity and then fund raise using them is very wrong. The police record should set things straight. The fact that this man had a gun and a criminal record and works for them is highly disturbing.

You can disagree 100% with anything said , believed, or whatever, but conduct such as this is very dishonest and shows no integrity, no matter how religious you are, or how right or wrong you are either( in anybodies eyes).

One can argue that the JFJ misidentified the bochur, thus chasing and restraining the wrong person. In that case the YouTube video description makes sense.
And the fact that he had nunchukas and some criminal record could be a coincidence.
All kinds of people with “records” become Baaley Teshuvah and learn in Yeshivas so it’s not unlikely there was more than one like that in that area.
(I obviously don’t know what actually happened as I wasn’t there, but neither
    were you.)
If indeed he assaulted the old lady why did the police release him along with the missionaries and didn’t charge him with any crime?

    • >>> If indeed he assaulted the old lady why did the police release him along with the missionaries and didn’t charge him with any crime?

Ken says maybe the Jewish Israeli police don’t like Christian Jews. Could such bias plague Israel’s law enforcers? Yes!

    • “If indeed he assaulted the old lady why did the police release him along with the missionaries and didn’t charge him with any crime?”

I suppose for the same reasons they allow large groups of hired thugs to shout over their PA systems “Were going to crucify you like we did to Jesus!” outside the house of law-abiding citizens in Arad.

    • Citizen’s arrests are legal in parts of USA where the citizens are also eyewitnesses. My neighbors arrests some teenage boys who were vandelizing property and held them for the police.

From what I’ve found online citizens arrest is legal in the USA and many other places , but only by victims or eyewitnesses to a felony during or immediately after it has been committed. If the Israeli law is like that too then the guys doing the “restraining” in this case also committed a crime even if it is not a case of mistaken identity as is claimed in YWN article you link to above.

  5. “a video showing a middle age woman getting beat over the head by one man and dropped kicked by another. Hmmm…”

Sounds like a Todd Bentley meeting……..
