On 1st March 2011 two hundred Gur Hasidim protesters are expected to descend upon the home of Israeli citizen Polly Sigulim, a Messianic Jewish resident of Arad in the south of Israel. Yad L’Achim have been working in partnership with the Gur Hasidim in Arad to harass and harangue the small Messianic Jewish community there. The police initially agreed to 400 but have recently reduced the number allowed at this protest outside a private home of this Israeli citizen to 200. Yad L’Achim recently hosted a huge demonstration against Messianic Jews in Ashdod and we wonder where their demo roadshow will take them next!
Sigulim writes:
March is the anniversary time of the year for the ultra orthodox to have their BIG demonstration [300, 400, 700 people] to protest the existence of Messianic Jews here in Arad. This has become an annual event and as usual it will take place in front of my house.
Through out the year there are numerous smaller demonstrations in front of all the homes of the believers of Arad. For the Orthodox Jews of Israel this annual event has become a platform for them to voice their disagreement even hatred of Messianic Jews. Of course it saddens us to see and hear our Jewish brothers outside our homes screaming curses against us and our families, trying to entice our neighbors to join their efforts to make our lives so miserable that we would choose to just pack everything and flee our birth-right country, Israel. This has been going on for 7 years now.
We hope to bring a report of this anti-Messianic demonstration sometime after the Tuesday demo.

I have often wondered is it legal to have plants out on the pavement outside your house and have a powerful water sprinkler to go off? Usually quite effective and also criminal damage to damage or remove them.
My other favourite would be a ‘bacon bomb’ grab some crusty bread (2 slices) 4 rashers of bacon (handle with gloves) fry said bacon (windows open to let the fumes really spread around the gathering). Mayo is optional but helps it stick so much better when you toss them out of the top window into the crowd. (Remember to half wrap in foil with plenty of grease so doesn’t break apart when thrown).
The key part here is have a camera ready to see which of them in confusion bites down on that sinful butty!
I really think ppl need to reassess their lives if their idea of a day out is to stand outside somebody’s house to hurl abuse.
Also for those who think my idea makes me an anti-semite (in the terms of hating Jews) – it does not as being Jewish it makes me a bad Jew but not a Jew hater
As a Gentile I am entertained by your clever ideas. Allow me, however, to argue against them. We should keep the focus upon the only real human rights issue here: religious freedom.
Dirty tricks may prevail, but they don’t solve the problem. Only two options can: New Birth in Messiah Jesus Christ or prevailing in court to force the religious hatemongers to tolerate our rights. Until the second coming, we must rely upon BOTH.
What do you think, eh?
As a side note, our troops in Iraq were rumored to rub pork lard onto bullets. It struck great fear into the Mohammedans, because their beliefs are that if Mohammed returns and finds any pig progduct inside them, then they will be damned to hell. Wow! What a sad second coming those guys have!
King Cyrus’ Persian army met the Egyptian army in battle, and the Egyptians were stunned to see that the Persians had tied cats to the front of their shields. Cats were very highly esteemed in Egyptian society. The Egyptians fled.
Polly is a soft target! She is a widow with a house full of orphans! During the 2nd Lebanon War while one of her sons was on the Lebanon/Israel border, in defense of Israel, they staged a massive demonstration in front of Polly’s house.
Why don’t these spiritual leaders rise up (man up) against the Iraq, Egypt, or whatever. Seems like they’re bigger fish to fry!
Waging war on the Christians and Messianic Jews? If they want to wage war, why not join the IDF?
But, God sees all this! He is not to be mocked! You can continue to do every vain imaginable thing in the name of the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Woe O’ Israel!
@ Ken
In a moment of seriousness it is wrong to act in the way suggested (although the picture of them all diving for cover at a flying bacon butty still makes me chuckle).
I admit I am a reformed dirty tricks master and have to keep reminding myself to renounce these habits.
That said you are right and this matter should be dealt with through the correct legal channels and prayer intervention that those who are doing this will see the error of their ways. In a more passive way perhaps a sign that reads ‘The devil makes work for idle hands’ outside? It doesn’t get more idle picketing a poor woman’s house when they should be working or studying.
I once pulled off a pretty clever and technologically savvy dirty trick once that contributed in some small way to bankrupting a pornographer with seven bookstores… but that’s another story. I share your interest. Thanks you for the response.
You know the Bible says laws and civil gov’t are institutions of God to restrain evil, meaning some people won’t do right, so the only alternative is punishment. That is what is left for the hatemonger bigots harming innocent Jews who are winning others to Messiah Yeshua.
Ken, I’d like to hear about those 7 bookstores sometime. I was instrumental in getting 1 vending machine off the street here in Israel and 1 shop closed down, but reopened when I was placed on house arrest.
This is a message for Polly. I Hope you see this. I stayed with you one weekend around this time last year and witnessed a little of the stuff you face on a constant basis. If it’s any consolation, you must be doing something right to be treated in the same way God’s dear Son was by the predecessors of ‘the boys in black’. After all, Yeshua did say that if they persecuted Him they would persecute you. He also said that the time was coming when those who want to kill you will think they’re doing God a favour. Are we surprised that His words were spot on??
Anyway Polly, I and my friends of Israel will be praying on Tuesday that you will be kept safe and that the Lord will open the eyes of your visitors so they are no longer ‘duped’ and can enter into their birthright as true sons of Israel’s messiah Yeshua. Bless you, Polly (and the kids!) x
Ediy we welcome your solidarity message to Polly, not so keen however on the implication that the boys in black are Christ-killers though. The long and bitter history of Medieval Christian Europe should cause pause for thought in the language we use as much as we criticize Yad L’Achim for the reckless rhetoric that they use against Messianic Jews.
The Arad cops have informed Polly that the demo has been postponed, no new date set yet. The Gur are said to been fuming.
Excellent!
gev and you wonder why Jews feel threatened by so called
“lovers of Israel”?

Ash Wednesday. How considerate of them; it will add to the penitential nature of the day. I’ll be offering up my fast for everyone concerned.
Eddie,
Will you be there with your trademark razor-tipped front bumper that you use to spread the love and “good news” of Jesus to every last Jew if it’s the last thing you ever do?
Gev. referring to my post of 27th Feb and your response: – no implication was made that Polly’s persecutors are ‘Christ killers’. Such a thought never entered my mind and I’m mystified as to how you made such a deduction. No need to reply; just setting the record straight and anyway, best to concentrate on praying for all parties involved.
Fair enough, but that is how I understood the ‘boys in black’ comment. Your clarification is welcome.
please tell me how I can learn what has happened today in Arad. as it is only 10am in the states, it is 6pm there…news resource, please.
I would like for polly to know I too am a foster parent for 33yrs and widow .I will be praying for all of you.Where I live is called the bible belt yes I know how blessed I am
The problem is religion, not belief. Religion steers people from the Living Word (dreams and visions). Belief is the acceptance that the Living Word exists. Religion is based on the opinions of some who pretend to speak for the Creator, but who never listen to the Living Word.
the problem is not religion, the problem is that christians insist on
coming to a jewish country to tell the jews about jesus whether they want to or not.
