Correction: ‘With God On Our Side’ — David Ben Gurion Quote
MEDIA ADVISORY, Nov. 4, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ — At the 16:55 minute mark of “With God On Our Side” there is a quote from David Ben Gurion, which states, “The Arabs will have to go, but one needs an opportune moment to make it happen, such as war.” The source for this quote we used was from:
“The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine” Ilan Pappe, page 23 (Ben Gurion’s Diary)
It has come to the attention of the producers of “With God On Our Side” that this quote cannot be found in the original sources of Ben Gurion’s diary and therefore cannot be verified as authentic. While references to this quote exist, we could not find it in its original form. In an effort to be transparent and accurate, the producers have decided to take the extra step of removing it from future printings of “With God On Our Side.” We apologize for this change.
Porter Speakman, Jr.
Rooftop Productions
Why does Speakman apologise for the change, why not apologise for bad research and including a fake quote. If they found out it was a fake quote now why didn’t they find out before they released the film? The answer it seems is because it was too good to pass up on and they need someone like Ben Gurion to say this in order for them to defame the Zionist dream of a Jewish homeland.
Now lets see if they continue with their delayed efforts to be “transparent and accurate” and deleted other inaccuracies, errors and misrepresentations! There would not be much of the film left if there really were trying to be accurate.
Calvin Smith has a nice take on this here: http://www.calvinlsmith.com/2011/11/with-ilan-pappe-on-their-side.html
More here, Rev Sizer can hardly claim to be unaware of Pappe’s track record

I reviewed Pappe’s book ‘The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine’ in 2009. He is totally unreliable as an historian: http://fromthetopcom.blogspot.com/
Pappe makes it clear that he has no regard for truth or accuracy:
“My bias is apparent despite the desire of my peers that I stick to facts and the “truth” when reconstructing past realities. I view any such construction as vain and presumptuous. This book is written by one who admits compassion for the colonized not the colonizer; who sympathizes with the occupied not the occupiers”
