Paper at Christ at the Checkpoint 2010: Netanyahu has no Jewish blood

Here is Palestinian Lutheran priest Mitri Raheb speaking at Christ in the Checkpoint 2010:

Actually, Israel represents Rome of the Bible, not the people of the land. And this is not only because I’m a Palestinian. I’m sure if we were to do a DNA test between David, who was a Bethlehemite, and Jesus, born in Bethlehem, and Mitri, born just across the street from where Jesus was born, I’m sure the DNA will show that there is a trace. While, if you put King David, Jesus and Netanyahu, you will get nothing, because Netanyahu comes from an East European tribe who converted to Judaism in the Middle Ages.

It is a myth that Jews aren’t really Jews by blood, and it is absurd to suggest Palestinian Arabs have more common DNA with the Biblical Israelites than Israeli Jews today do.

So why does Raheb make this unsubstantiated claim?

I think we know why.

I wonder how the Messianic Jews attending Christ At The Checkpoint 2012 will respond to these outrageous claims. I hope they will respond assertively.

  1. “Israel represents Rome of the Bible“?! These people are absolutely nauseating! In less than one hundred years the makeup of Jewish blood is once again being called into question by those that consider themselves people of G-d. Terribly interesting and unsettling. Don’t they teach history in these priest training centers? Oh wait, Mitri Raheb is LUTHERan. Makes sense.

Of note is the fact that “Mitri” is derived from the Arabic for Egypt, and I can only wonder if “Raheb” is at all related to Rahab, the word synonymous with Egypt (in Isaiah, Psalms & Job) and many times translated as “storm”, “assault”, “pride”, “arrogance”, “fleeing serpent” and “dragon” in the Tanakh. For example, in Psalm 89, which outlines the eternal covenant G-d has made with Israel (undoubtedly, much to the chagrin of these deceivers) a defeated Rahab is mentioned.

Starting in 89:3, …”I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant: ‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build your throne for all generations.'” Selah. Let the heavens praise your wonders, O L-RD, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! For who in the skies can be compared to the L-RD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the L-RD, a G-d greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him? O L-RD G-d of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O L-RD, with your faithfulness all around you? You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them. You crushed Rahab like a carcass; you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.”

As always, G-d will obliterate those that seek to curse His People – no matter what they call themselves this century.

    1. Agreed Luke, it is sickening to read such nonsense, so weird that those who hate Jews end up claiming to be the real Jews!

  2. The latest in anti-semitic claims by the Arabs…..trying to prove Jews have no
    legitimate claim to the land.
This is a new one to me….thanks for the link. Scary stuff.

  3. this claim is part of the Khazar theory; an old antisemitic theory that has been updated by arabs to prove that Jews have no link to Eretz Yisroel!… Google Khazar and learn about how
this so called theory has evolved into anti-Jewish and anti-Israel propaganda. Actually
this guy (its difficult to refer to him as a person) is grasping at straws; the Khazar Shtik
is as old as the hills.

  4. Actually come to think of it…..I remember watching a video about a certain man from
an organization (I can’t remember the organization’s name) who ventures into Judea
and Samara and meets many arabs aka palistinians who are really Jewish and hide
    their identity out of fear!

    1. Bog Shlomo Sand’s theories are extremely shaky, to say the least:

” asked him how it was that the Khazars could “demographically probably” be the fathers of the 3 million Polish Jews who existed in the 20th century, when they had no Khazar names, spoke Yiddish and contained numerous Cohens and Levis who could not possibly be of Khazar ancestry (such status is obtained from the patrilineal line and cannot be obtained via conversion).”

    1. Sadly true Eli. There is even an evangelical scholar in the UK called Anthony McRoy who claims that the Palestinians are the real descendants of the Israelites and not today’s Jewish Israeli – utter nonsense.
